Keelings Cycle for Pieta House

This weekend Keelings was pleased to raise awareness for Pieta House with a Cyclothon at Dundrum Town Centre! To celebrate Januberry, volunteers from Keelings and Pieta House covered X kilometres on stationary bikes to raise awareness and generate funds for the charity. Pieta House provides free treatment programmes for people who have suicidal ideation or who participate in self-harming behaviour.

Ireland rugby international and former Pieta House client, Hannah Tyrell was there on the day to lend support. Hannah said,

“There was no hesitation in my mind when I was asked to support the Keelings cyclists for Pieta House. For me, both sport and Pieta House have been crucial in overcoming my struggles with mental health. As a Pieta House ambassador, I want to help spread the message to others who struggle – reach out. Help is there.”

The event is a perfect fit for Keelings who are looking to get Irish families off to a healthy, positive start to the year by giving shoppers the chance to win a set of family bikes every day this month! David Keeling said,

“We wanted to support a charity that helps people with mental health issues. Keelings encourages people to have a healthy lifestyle and that encompasses mental health. Since 2006, Pieta House has helped over 30, 000 people in crisis so we’re delighted to help this incredibly important charity.”

Brian Higgins, CEO of Pieta House said,

“The feeling here in Dundrum Town Centre is fantastic. Keelings have created a phenomenal buzz, helping us spread the word that if you or someone you know is suffering, you don’t have to. We’re very fortunate to have Keelings’ support and of course, exercise is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle, which is necessary for mental wellbeing. I have to say a massive thank you to all the volunteers who have been pedalling away all day – they’ve been amazing.”
