Thanks to the wonderful work of our native pollinators, most of the food we eat and plants and flowers that blossom are made possible!

Here on Keelings Farm, Bees are crucial in the growth of delicious berries!
You can create a positive growing environment for attracting Bees into your garden by sowing specific wildflower seeds that attract the humble bumble bee! It’s also important that the seeds you pick are native to Ireland as they will produce better flowers in local soil conditions providing more food for our native pollinator species!

    DIY Insect Hotel

Nature does a lot to help our fruit here on our farm, not least by providing insects and pollinators to pollinate our crops and prey on pests. These valuable insects deserve more credit and Keelings #LittleGrowers can help by creating their own insect hotel to house our little farm friends!

Follows Denis’ on his mission to build a unique insect hotel that you too can make!

    Growing Strawberries at home

Denis is one of our Strawberry growers here at Keelings and he has lots of tips on planting your own Strawberries at home!

A few key things to remember before you start growing are that plants generally require the following elements in order to grow successfully; light, suitable temperature, moisture which incorporates adequate drainage, feed and a growing medium for the plant such as soil, peat or even a hydroponic system.

Ireland is only a small island, yet our soil conditions, aspect and weather patterns vary considerably from one location to another. Good gardeners love to share – upload your pictures on social media using the hashtag #LittleGrowers
